Samuel Tilden - Party of One

This is a new Blog dedicated - to my favorite politician...Samuel J. Tilden.

Currently I am writing and producing a documentary on his amazing life from birth to death. I will be Blogging on the progress as often as I can.

In my opinion after several years of researching Mr. Tilden, I can say without any reservation was a one of a kind politician, an American Icon. I personally think there have been no other like him in our history except maybe our Founding Fathers who would have applauded him. Mr. Tilden's life is still celebrated into the 21st century by private members of the National Arts Club.

Today while researching I found an article in the New York Times where they did the same. Below is the toast to Tilden:

"The Principals of the Democratic Party are the equal rights of men, and sometimes lately we have gone beyond that and allied, for the sake of winning, with Populism and Socialism. but we are coming back, and I think that we are back to the platform of Tilden tariff for revenues only, less paternalism, and a closer conception of the individual rights of men....Speaker at the annual Tilden Birthday Dinner, Charles S. Hamlin - 1903"

To the few that know his legacy - I believe they would handily agree that my efforts to tell his story are not wasted. I pray my efforts to produce his life story I do him the justice he so deserves.
